It's not that hard. If you are promote yourself, are presentable, on time and organised, you have it covered.
What most girls do wrong is :-
Sit at home waiting for people to see their profile and contact them. That approach might work, but generally, it doesn't.
On AIR , at it's most basic and free, it means visit the site on a regular basis so that you are seen to be active. Most other sites are the same - they offer photographers tools to view by "most recently seen at top" and that's the one that most of them choose. We only want to book girls who seem currently active, and thus keen for work, and so will NOT mess us around or no show.
The next level is to actively contact photographers and producers and do so on a regular basis. Do it via sites, and as you collect their email addresses, use those too. This is how I started and got most of my work. It's something that very few models ever actually do. Be different, do it an hour a day so that you contact everyone every few weeks on a cycle.
Consider paying for promotion. On AIR that means becoming a Friend of AIR. Clients tend to assume that models who are investing actual money are serious and will be reliable.
This should be easy enough - if you accept a job, to do certain things at a certain time in a certain place, Turn Up, Do It, Go Home.
Probably the biggest mistake some new models make is saying YES to jobs that they cannot do, or don't really want, or can't organise properly. If you have a child and a booking means that you need to arrange child care, say "yes, but I'll need to confirm when I have spoken with my babysitter". Then reconfirm with your babysitter a week before, 4 days before and then each day. Because if the babysitter lets you down, it's YOUR reputation that gets hit. If you change your mind about a job, or find you can't do it, tell the client asap. Up to about a week ahead you can be replaced easily, and it's just one of those things. Shorter notice is less good but even the day before is better than nothing.
All smart models know that if people can make money from paying them to model, then surely I, the model, can make money from my own content. Well yes, and certainly if you become a big name your early "never before seen" stuff will have value. Read about Content Share for cost effective ways of getting your own material together.
You do not need your ownj web site - You can sell your stuff on AdultWork.com, though that site is mainly for escorts so expect some dubious messages. Also on Clips4Sale.com. In either case, you need to promote each upload in forums where porn fans visit, like BGAFD.
Content Share
Making porn needs three people - you, another performer and someone to film it. Tripods and POV really don't work.
Content Share is when MODELS get together to make content. The general rule is that they each get copies of everything that they are in, and can use them how they wish - their own site, AdultWork accounts etc.
If three models work together, then they just pass the camera round.
If a proper photographer / producer is involved he is a VOLUNTEER only. He does not get any rights.
Make sure you trust that the person with the camera will turn the content round fast. You'll normally get Windows Media files. If you want the raw uncompressed footage you'll need to supply the person with an external USB hard drive they can post back to you. And a tenner for postage.
If you want Content Share, then the best option is to organise it - decide on a date about 5-6 weeks ahead, with a location and let me know and I'll add it to Events and promote it in the Newsletter. FREE. Depending on where it is, I am also available to film/perform as needed for free/petrol. Note - people will assume the location is free. If you are renting an apartment etc, make it clear that people will be expected to contribute their share, so £50 if 4 of you and a £200 rental.
Or just watch the Events and join in with someone elses. There's usually 1-2 a month listed.
People should not request things above your levels and certainly should not expect anything more than they have booked. Please report such people to us. Even better, comment their profile. I don't remove people based on one response, but patterns of behaviour get people deleted.
Contact me with a phone number (or just ask for mine) and I'll help you out.

Models making an income
I would also advise looking at starting your own site sooner rather than later, to help build a fan base. i.e www.jennasky.com using www.porncms.com software... As an example, may seem like a very advertising based comment. But I think if you check this out it is a cost effective way to get into the market. PS I do not work for porncms I use it on about 20 sites though ! Much simpler than Elevated X or others I have tried.
