Using Hotmail? Read this - you are losing work

Hotmail is blocking incoming mail for no good reason.

It's not an adult issue, it's the way they run their service.

If you have a Hotmail account:-

  • You will NOT be getting all your mail.
  • It will be damaging your reputation - you will seem to be ignoring emails.
  • You will NOT get AIR emails - and I don't know (can't tell) if you'll get them from the Contact the Author links.

What to do - drop Hotmail and get another provider.

This is the only solution. Using Hotmail is costing you work, so drop it.

Technical stuff

Sending to Hotmail? You KNOW your emails don't get through if you get:-

rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection
may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain
reputation problems.

But for most users, they send emails and DO NOT GET A BOUNCE. They think it has been delivered, but it hasn't.

Google "hotmail policy reasons" and you'll find loads of sysadmins tearing their hair out about Hotmails arrogant policy.

It seems that Hotmail think the ideal solution is for all sites to PAY money to Hotmail if they want their mail delivered.

I will soon make it a rule that all members with hotmail addresses show them on the page. That way you can get work offers (though you won't know they come from this site ).

Since putting this up I've had several industry people confirm that they have the same problem.

So - if you have a Hotmail account, kill it.
